Andy Williams

Vice-President, Sales and Marketing - Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Johnson & Johnson Medical Products

Andy WilliamsMr. William is the Vice-President, Sales and Marketing - Ethicon Endo-Surgery at Johnson & Johnson Medical Products, and he has more than 15 years of experience at the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies.

Prior to his current role, Mr. William has been the Director, Marketing - Ethicon Products at Johnson & Johnson Medical Products, the Director, New Product Development and earlier the Franchise Director at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc. Before joining the Johnson & Johnson group, he was the Director, Marketing and International Sales at MDS Nordion, a global specialty health science company that provides market-leading products used for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Brian Jahns

Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Oncology, Hoffmann-La Roche

Brian JahnsDr. Brian Jahns is currently the Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Oncology at Hoffmann-La Roche. He is a pharmaceutical industry leader with extensive accomplishments in marketing strategy, field force effectiveness, and team development. In the past several years, he has fulfilled various marketing, sales management, and medical roles at Roche, most recently as the Business Unit Director for Hematology. He has participated in the successful launch and growth of several antiviral agents, transplant immunosuppressants and anti-cancer biologics.

Throughout the decade prior to joining Roche, Dr. Jahns was a consultant to the Canadian pharmaceutical industry, and was involved in academia and the delivery of patient care at the University of Toronto and several institutions in the United States.

Spencer Barrett

Professor, Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, University of Toronto
Canada Research Chair - Tier 1, Evolutionary Genetics

Spencer BarrettDr. Barrett is a Professor at the Department of of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, University of Toronto, and the Canada Research Chair in Evolutionary Genetics. He has extensive national and international experience as the President at Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution (2010-2012), Vice-President (North America) at Society for the Study of Evolution (2010-2012), Visiting Professor at the University of Chile (2010) and the University of Stellenbosch (2009), to list a few. He holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Botany, University of California in Berkeley, United States, as well as a Hon. B.Sc. from the Department of Agricultural Botany, University of Reading in England.

The research in Dr. Barrett’s laboratory focuses on understanding the mechanisms responsible for the evolution of plant mating strategies and their genetic and evolutionary consequences. His specific research interests include evolution and ecology of plant mating systems, pollination biology, floral evolution, gender strategies, sexual dimorphism and sex ratios, evolution of selfing and outcrossing, biology of invading plants, colonization genetics, genetics and ecology of small populations, metapopulation biology, evolution on islands, and systematics and evolution of aquatic plants.

Michael Schunk

Senior Director, Bulk Manufacturing, sanofi pasteur Canada

Michael SchunkDr. Schunk is currently the Senior Director, Bulk Manufacturing at sanofi pasteur, the vaccines division of Sanofi (formerly known as Sanofi-Aventis), and the largest company in the world devoted entirely to human vaccines.

With more than 13 years of experience in the industry, Dr. Schunk is responsible for viral and bacterial active ingredient manufacturing operations in multiple facilities on a large vaccine manufacturing and R&D (Research & Development) site in Toronto. He has also held a number of leadership positions at sanofi pasteur prior to his current role, most recently as the Senior Director, Quality Control at the Marcy L'Etoile site in France.

Collin Nguyen

Regional Director and Senior Instructor, Toronto Life Sciences

Collin NguyenMr. Nguyen is currently the Regional Director and Senior Instructor at Toronto Life Sciences (TLS) Group. At TLS, he has taught over thousands of students during the past several years and continues to inspire students in pursuing careers in medicine.

Mr. Nguyen has completed a B.Sc. degree and a M.Sc. in Synthetic Chemistry at the University of Toronto, before joining the Faculty of Medicine’s Doctor of Medicine Program at the university. During his Medical School training years, he has gained international perspectives on Medicine by completing an internship at the Department of Surgery of the Harvard Medical School. In addition to his outstanding credentials, he has also gained admission to various other professional programs offered by Graduate, Law and Dental Schools.
